The all-new 2010 Chevy Cobalt features a choice of body styles and a wide selection of trims and available options. The new Cobalt is versatile and economical to drive, offering stellar fuel economy, excellent build quality, affordability and sweet style.
The 2010 Chevy Cobalt comes in two models – a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan – each with a performance-tuned suspension for controlled handling. The sedan and coupe are offered in multiple trim levels – LS, 1LT, 2LT and SS for the sedan while the coupe comes in LS, LT and SS.
All models except the turbocharged SS trims feature an ECOTEC 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder engine with continuously variable valve timing (CVVT). This powerplant develops 145 hp with 152 lb/ft of torque. Two transmissions are offered – a sporty five-speed manual with overdrive and a four-speed automatic. The Cobalt can take you farther without stopping to fill the tank with an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency rating of 25 mpg city and 35 mpg highway for the sedan.
The Supercharged SS models sport a turbocharged 2.0-liter ECOTEC inline four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing and direct injection, which develops 260 hp with 260 lb/ft of torque. All Cobalts are front-wheel drive.
The 2010 Chevy Cobalt interior offers comfortable seating for five with a convenient, well-designed dash. Standard features include a driver information center and a four-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with auxiliary input jacks and XM Satellite Radio with three free months of service. All models are also OnStar equipped with a complimentary subscription for one year of service.
Breathe easier with the LS model and its air conditioning with filter. The 1LT and 2LT trims gain sport fabric upholstery, full power accessories and extra storage in the center console. The 2LT gains standard cruise control and offers Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls, and a matching leather-wrapped shiftknob. Available packages for the 2LT include a Leather Upholstery Package and a Premium Audio Package, which tunes up your sound system to include seven speakers and a subwoofer.
The SS coupe interior goes full throttle, featuring a standard leather-wrapped shiftknob and steering wheel with mounted audio and cruise controls, premium cloth upholstery with accent stitching, titanium-trimmed gauges and a performance display screen with a turbo-boost gauge and performance readouts.
An easily accessible pass-through 60/40-split rear bench seat in both body styles allows for more cargo room when needed. Even with the rear seats in place, the Cobalt offers a generous 13.9 cubic feet of cargo space.
The exterior of the 2010 Chevy Cobalt is smooth with fine accent lines highlighting its subtle curves, slim black grille and large shapely headlights. Lightly tinted windows enhance the Cobalt’s well-rounded appearance. The 1LT and 2LT trims enhance the look with power mirrors and color-matched side moldings.
The Chevy Cobalt SS coupe’s sporty styling is highlighted by a power sunroof, foglamps for the front, a rear spoiler and chrome-tipped exhaust. Base LS and 1LT ride on 15-inch steel wheels. The turbocharged SS coupe gets boosted to 18-inch aluminum wheels complete with performance tires.
