2011 Convertible Camaro - Chevrolet’s Smash Hit Coming in Feb 2011

Wednesday, December 29th, 2010

camaroconv_ext_01The Camaro has been reincarnated, and now with the 2011 Camaro Convertible coming to market, its comeback can be considered a success for many enthusiasts who waited years for this to happen.

Not only has the Camaro been able to regain it’s influence as a serious muscle car it contains powertrain engineering that is everything one might expect from a leader in performance like GM.

The car enthusiasts seems to get better news each year as the OEM’s announce newer, more powerful models and the convertible Camaro is like the icing on the cake.

The SS convertible will be equipped with a 6.2L V8 engine making an estimated 426 Horsepower, that’s significant power for a production car. The potential of this to make another 100 HP is going to be a few simple bolt-ons, perhaps even the product of a nice deep exhaust system and some custom programming.

The advantage in offering a convertible model attracts a new segment of buyers who may have sat on the sidelines waiting for this to happen. Perhaps some gung-ho enthusiast paid for a custom job and had the top chopped at a price well above the suggested MSRP starting at $30,000 for the 2011 Camaro convertible.

The look of the new Camaro with the top down brings it to an entirely different level. This look brings out the best of the Camaro, it’s as if they designed it originally without a roof because the car looks incredible without it.

The original comeback captured a classic and gave it elements of new technology and design, but this new Camaro convertible has no need to leverage a history as it stands in a class of its own.

Spirit of Giving

We at Jim Glover Chevrolet are so fortunate and thankful to be the #1 Chevrolet Dealer in the state of Oklahoma. With the Christmas holidays coming upon us, we want to share with those who are in need this year. The “miracle” of Christmas is repeated over and over again through the joy of caring and sharing. So we are helping in two different ways and  allowing our customers to participate as well.

First, Jim Glover Chevrolet will donate $200 for every new Chevrolet sold to the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree. Donations provide Christmas dinners, clothing, and toys for families in need. Financial assistance also helps with basic necessities, along with seasonal aid. Families of prisoners often are included. Volunteers distribute gifts to shut-ins in hospitals and nursing homes, and shelters are open for sit-down dinners. The Salvation Army endeavors to bring spiritual light and love to those it serves at Christmas so that the real meaning of the season is not forgotten. Many families receive aid over a period of months after the Christmas season as well, people struggling with difficult family, emotional, or employment problems.

Secondly, when you drop off unwrapped toy for the U.S. Marine Corps’ “Toys For Tots program, you’ll receive a coupon good for an Oil Change and 27 Point Inspection for only $12.95. The mission of Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U. S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.  This assistance includes supporting the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program by raising funds to provide toys to supplement the collections of local Toys for Tots campaigns, to provide promotional and support material and defray the costs of conducting annual Toys for Tots campaigns.  Other Foundation support includes providing administrative, advisory, financial, logistic and promotional support to local Toys for Tots Coordinators; managing funds raised and monies donated based on the use of Toys for Tots name or logo; providing other support the Marine Corps, as a federal agency, cannot provide; and conducting public education and information programs about Toys for Tots that call the general public to action in support of this patriotic community action program.

So whether you’re buying a new Chevrolet or just dropping off that unwrapped toy, you’ll be helping to see that more people, especially the children have a Merry Christmas. After all, it really is better to give than to receive - Merry Christmas everyone!
